Configuring a Dial-up connection for Windows ME (Millenium Edition)

|
|
To begin, double-click My Computer,
double-click Dial-up Networking, then double-click
Make New Connection.
If this is the first dial-up connection you have created, you
may get an Dial-Up Networking introduction page. If so, click
the Next button.
|

|
|
In the first box, enter a label for this dial-up account (so you
can distinguish it from any other dial-up accounts you may want to
create).
If you wish to use a different modem than the one listed in the
Select a device box, choose it from the drop-down list
in that box.
Then click the Next button.
|

|
|
In the "Area code" and "Telephone number" box, enter the
dial-up access phone number for your location (refer to
the support home page for a list of
dial-up access numbers).
Then click the Next button.
|

|
|
You are now ready to begin using your dial-up connection. Click
the Finish button.
To connect using this dial-up connection later, double-click My
Computer, double-click Dial-up Networking, then
double-click the icon for the dial-up connection you created.
You can configure your computer to automatically connect to the
Internet whenever you start your web browser and e-mail program. See
the Frequently Asked Questions page for
more information.
